Hypnobabies, anyone?

Our Hypnobabies class starts Monday and I'm so excited! (Sorry if this has been discussed before) I'd love to hear from other moms who have used or plan to use Hypnosis in childbirth and how it's affected your experience.

I used hypnobirthing - I think its different but I'm not sure. It worked beautifully for our DS's birth. I can honestly say I had a wonderful pain-free delivery. Doing the refresher this time and am hoping for another good experience. Enjoy!

I'm doing Hypnobirthing too, though I think some one did say it is different than Hypnobabies. I had my first class yesterday, and I absolutely loved it! We are planning a homebirth, so some of the things didn't quite feel like they apply, but overall I liked the concepts and listening to the hypno sessions really did make me feel so relaxed. I love visualizing my baby's face and his movements down and out into the world. Our instructor is great; we are the only couple in the session so we got totally personal attention. She brought out healthy snacks half way through and gave me a gift certificate for a half hour prenatal massage. I can't wait to use it!

I'm doing the hypnobabies home study course and I used in my last pregnancy too. And I was very happy with my last birth. I didn't have a completly painfree birth, but the actual pushing didn't hurt at all. So I'm hoping for a great result this time too.

And I love that I can tell my DH to watch the kids while I go listen to my scripts alone. It's really relaxing!

I'm doing the hypnobabies self-study course. I'm on week #3. So far I love it.

I am doing the home-study course too and am on week#2. I am finding it difficult to find the time to listen to the CDs though. Often I have to wait until bed time and I fall asleep so I am not sure if that is as beneficial.

Last night, I woke up and I was 5 minutes into the next track...LOL. I often phase out for a minute or two, but this was the first time I completely fell asleep...maybe 10 minutes into the CD.

I'm doing hypnobirthing. I am also having a hard time finding time to listen to the CDs. We are not suppose to listen in the car (which I haven't), but that would be the easiest place for me to listen to them, because it's the only alone time I get.

I'm doing the hypnobabies home study course and I LOVE IT! I think even just the positive pregnancy affirmations have been amazing for me. I feel so confident and in control of my pregnancy and birth. And I'm usually such a push over and worry wart. My only issue it that I don't practice my finger drop technique- EVER. Only when I'm listening to the tracks. I know I should, but maybe it's because I don't FEEL any different that I feel like it's a waste of time. But I do my hypnobabies CD every day... mostly at night before I fall asleep. It's weird. For the first couple of weeks I *always* fell asleep listening to my tracks and now I never do. But they always say whatever happens your subconscious is always listening and absorbing... so I wouldn't worry about falling asleep. You could always listen to each track once not in hypnosis so you consciously hear it all- that's a suggestion I got on the yahoo hypnobabies group.

Yay, I'll be so interested to hear all our birth stories!!

yuppers

I just got it in the mail and finished reading the first chapter of the hypnobabies book so will start the CDs next week. I cannot wait.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to listen to the CDs...downloading to an ipod or using a portable CD player....I imagine the ipod would be nice for the birth too...smaller size right?

I'm planning to start listening/doing the hypnobabies stuff very soonn (just waiting for dp to get me some batteries actually, lol). I have a very old version my friend sent me - it's on tapes! But it fit our budget (ha!) so I hope I can still get some good out of it.

I'm using my ipod for listening to my scripts. But I'm going to put the scripts on DHs ipod and my cellphone too, just to make sure my ipod doesn't run out of power during my birth.

I'm using hypnobirthing. I put the CDs on my ipod so that I have them and can move from place to place in the house if needed with my earphones. Last night I started listening to one of them and my ipod went through 3 of them before I was alert enough to wake up. I got SUPER hypnobirthed last night. LOL! The point is training yourself to fully relax and my husband said last night I was fully relaxed and breathing softly in less than a minute after I turned on my ipod... so I guess I'm training myself well. LOL!

oh that is a GREAT idea! I will put them on DH and DD's ipods as well in case I need them for a long time during labor

I have mine all on separate playlists on my ipod... we're doing hypnobabies so I do the track I'm supposed to do that day and then I put the pregnancy affirmations track on the playlist after so I get that one too in case I fall asleep so my subconscious gets a little extra sumthi' sumthin' while I'm sleeping lol. I was previously listening to it on CD and I'd fall asleep and accidentally go to a track I wasn't supposed to yet, which isn't a HUGE deal, but I'd rather do it this way so I have more control

Our first class was last night. I think I'm going to love it! I've been practicing my finger-drop technique and being very careful not to move unless I turn my switch on. DH is excited about the scripts he'll read me, which is great because I want him involved as much as possible. I'm looking into hiring a hypnodoula, although I get the feeling I may not even need a doula with this! But it'll be nice to have someone whose familiar with Hypnobabies who can give DH a break if he eneds to eat or sleep or check on Lolli.

I need to start (I'll be 33 weeks tomorrow). I did it last time (the studying; chose not to use it during labor for a number of reasons) so I'm familiar with it but I need to get going. The only option I have is to listen to it at night as I'm falling asleep.

I am doing hypnobabies home study and I love it!! I did hypnobirthing the first time around. I feel like hypnobabies has more to offer with more structure and more scripts and affirmations to use. That is just my experience though.

I am such a strong believer in the fact that what we believe is what we experience. The hypnobabies method goes right along with my own personal beliefs so I feel it is really powerful for me.

I enjoy listening to the scripts and practicing the techniques so much. I feel so rejuvenated afterward. The feelings of peace and calmness are worth a million dollars!!

Can't wait to hear how the techniques work for everyone during our easy birthing times!!

Just got "woken up" from hypnosis twice today during nap time to a screaming upset toddler. LOL. So much for getting it done during nap time!
