Super Cheap OS Pockets on eBay

What's with all these? Has anybody else checked this out?

I have a dozen Pampered Cheeks OS pockets that I love, and at the time I bought them two years ago, they were the most inexpensive I could find (~$12 each, after shipping).

Now, the lady who owns Pampered Cheeks is a WAHM in MN, and her products are top notch, so I don't really want to branch out... but, dag, these diapers on eBay are like $6 apiece. This both intrigues me and makes me suspicious, if you know what I mean. If I bought 24 cheap diapers for $150, yeah that's great IF they work. Otherwise it's just a waste of $150. YK?

So... anyone know anything about these?

Which ones are you looking at? I bought some called "Shinies" and they're JUNK. They were also super cheap so I got two to try and even though they were cheap it was such a waste of money. The leak, they're falling apart already, and the woman won't give me my money back. It's great to try new diapers, but now I'm wary and will only stick with established brands that I know are quality.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, some of them were Shinies. The others, I think, were Sunbaby and Coolababy. I have my suspicions about these, that they are made in China. OTOH, I have seen Etsy sellers accused of just reselling things that are MIC, so I guess I just don't know what to believe.

I guess I'm happy that they (that is, OS pocket diapers) have come down in price, since the first ones I saw were bG! for like $18-$20, but I wonder how cheap you can go and still get diapers that hold up.

Seriously, I would steer clear of any that are made in China. The workmanship just isn't there. The SHinies (which are made in China) started falling apart after about 3 or 4 washes. I would spend my money on quality made in Canada or US brands like BumBenius or Mother Ease if you're looking for one size diapers. It's more up front, but if you buy cheap diapers you'll just spend more in the long run as you have to replace them.

I would have to agree with both your posts.
Also you may want to deal with wahm companies that have been established for 6 months to a year.

I've heard of a number of people buying the ebay dipes and then being really disappointed when they completely fall apart. BG!s might seem expensive at 17.95 a piece, but they last. My DD is 2 and the diapers are going strong and going to be reused on 2nd baby. You can't get any kind of guarantee with the ebay diapers - it's not worth the risk.

You can get some inexpensive OS pockets at ClothDiaperWholesale. Might be worth a try if keeping costs down is a priority, plus it says they are made in the US.

I have lots of Coolababy one-size pockets and AIOs and I think they are fantastic. The price is unbelievable. As far as I can tell, the quality is exactly the same as the top brand name snap-closure PUL-fleece-microfiber diapers. I've even heard a rumor that they are made by the same Chinese manufacturer who makes FB. I wouldn't be surprised as there are many similarities.

They fit large (they started to fit DS on the smallest size at about 15 lbs) but are really trim. They are very absorbent, rarely wick/leak and never blow-out. I prefer the AIOs because they seem trimmer and I hate stuffing pockets; the AIOs still dry quickly (best on the line) and come out clean. We've heavily used them for almost 3 months and, though I know that's not that long, they still look and perform like brand new.

I don't know about the other ebay brands but I give the Coolababies three thumbs up. Shipping was very quick and communication was great (perfect English, prompt).

That said, I do feel a pang of guilt about the fact that most of my stash wasn't bought local. I've come up with all sorts of ways to rationalize it, global economy realities, more $ left over to spend on good karma elsewhere, yada yada, but it still doesn't always sit well.

Also, in the interest of full disclosure, we did have some serious stink issues but I don't think that had anything to do with the Coolababies per se. It was completely solved with Calgon so I think hard water is our issue and would be with any synthetic diaper.

I got some Sweet Doll Baby pockets off of ebay. So far.....really like them! They are fitting both Delainey (newborn) and Mylee (2 1/2) great! I have some with velcro and some with snaps. You can not beat the price!

We use mostly prefolds, but these are great for Daddy (who is : by cloth! )

I bought 16 fashionbaby onesize pockets on ebay for $87 a few weeks ago ago. They are my first experience with cloth diapers so i have nothing to compare them to, but so far i love them. They are really soft, trim, rarely leak and are super cute. So far they also wash really well. I have them on the medium size, my son is 17.5 pounds, four months.
