This got long, sorry.
Where to start? Well we used to live in CA with extremely hard water at our last place. The hard water caused soooo many issues (extremely stinky dipes, clear out you sinuses type of ammonia smell) that I threw in the towel and switched to sposies. We are now out of state with water that isn't particularly hard or soft and we've decided to switch back to cloth. I'm in the process of stripping my old dipes and will admit that I even put some bleach in with them to kill anything that may be lingering in there (it's been a year). I want to get away from buildup issues and come seeking help to not repeat the stink-o-rama.
First off, most of these dipes are 6 years old, having gone through my older three kids. The flannel dipes are the newest, having only been used on my dd for a year.
Questions:
1 - Ok, so my first stipped batch seems to have come out pretty well. My flannel dipes (fitteds) still have a bit of ammonia smell to them after ds pees. I have to stick my nose close to the dipe to smell, but still, I thought it should be gone?
2 - I have ordered Country Save detergent and Bac Out. I'm confused after reading other posts. Do I need to put Bac out in the wash every time because CS is a natural detergent and doesn't disinfect on it's own? If so, how much?
I guess I'm just not real sure what my wash routine should be anymore. It used to be: Cold rinse, 1/4 scoop of Tide in a hot/cold wash, additional cold rinse. Sometimes I'd add vinegar to the wash in a downey ball.
Please help me avoid the stink. Thanks!

I've never used Bac Out or a natural detergent before so was a bit apprehensive about getting it right.
