Hey,
I am in this DDC, my due date was the 14th, i just mostly lurk, but i thought that i would post that the baby came and the details. I NEVER thought that i would go early!!
He was born at 2:19am on May 6th. 8lbs 2oz, 20in long

My water broke at about 11:30 on monday night. I actually thought that when i ws having my regular contractions (that i have been having for weeks) that i was peeing on myself. Then i went back to sleep, and woke up at 12:15, to more of the same. That was when i realized that i was not peeing but my water broke.
My contractions were then at that point right away 2 min apart, and lasting for a minute. called the MW, she got over about 4:30am. I was already 6cm, and was doing fine. Got all the way dialated to 9.5cm, basically just a rim left, and then it would not budge. Spent 6 hours like that, the rim them swelled and i just could not relax enough at that point to get the rim out of the way. I decided to transfer to get some meds so that i could relax to get the rim out of the way. It took 3 hours for the swelling to go down, after it did i pushed him right out. No tearing or cutting.
i got a VERY LIGHT epidural so i could feel everything, just with the edge off.

I am so bummbed that i did not get my home birth that i have planned for forever, but stuff happens i guess.
We signed ourselves out at 6 hours after the birth and are home now.

I have to say that i have NEVER felt pain like that, and i am not even sure if there is a word in...any language to describe it!!
Those natural birth videos that i have seen seemed to have left that part out.

Congratulations mama! Thanks for posting the birth story.
Having been through one delivery already (that was epidural-free, but ended up w/ a shot of fentanyl after 7 hours in transition!!! I was stuck too! Not fun!), you're right, there's really no word to describe the physical experience. The great thing is...the second they hand you that baby, it's bliss.
Enjoy your new little one!

Congrats on Emmitt! Welcome baby .

I know how you feel about the end not being what you had hoped despite a great labor up to that point. I had a section a week ago after 17 hours of fairly decent labor and have been working through that as I had intensely desired and read and prepared for natural childbirth. to you.

Word. I have had two drug-free 5-hour labors with fairly minor lacerations. Intellectually, I accept that my labors were "easy" compared to others. But I seriously can't imagine anything hurting more. I screamed my head off the entire time. Maybe I should post the vids on YouTube to counterbalance all those demurely moaning mamas

Congrats mama!

I was screaming during my 7 hour labor too.

not to hijack...... but maybe thats the difference. My 30 hour labor I was quite collected, but this last one (8hrs labor 5 hrs pushing) I was conjuring every woodland animal with my sounds!!!
