Prenatal Yoga

I have done yoga a couple of times in my lifetime but want to give it go since I heard it is great for getting your body ready for labor. Does anyone recommend any prenatal yoga dvds out there???

I'm curious about it this round, too. I read up on a couple in-town classes the other day, I'd like to call them and find out the pricing. If it's prohibitive there's always DVDs!

I wanted to drop in on a local class but I was kind of felt weird as I am only 4 weeks and not even bloated yet.

This is a great idea. I've done some yoga but I would love to really get into it during this pregnancy. Maybe I'll pick up some dvd's.

I am starting with my normal routine minus hard inversions, but I am more sensitive to when I feel fatiqued and do more of the stretching/breathing stuff rather than the power workout.

I have the gaiam prenatal yoga DVD with shiva Rea, I LOVE IT. the moves are easy enough I can do them even though I have never really done yoga before. I love it even more because she breaks down the moves for each trimester so that there is no question as to how you are supposed to fix the poses. I feel so calm and stratch after the workout. Obviously, I really do love this dvd lol

I am a yoga instructor and while I cannot recommend any dvds (because I have never done any prenatal dvds), I highly recommend a prenatal yoga class at a studio. They are usually taught by highly qualified teachers and it just feels so good. Also, don't worry if you are not showing a baby belly or not...you still have all the pregnancy symptoms that can be relieved with yoga. Plus if you get into it now, it can help you as you do get further along and it can help combat the normal aches and pains that come along with pregnancy and these big bellies we are about to grow
