My Pro Vax/ Pro Big Pharma Friend de-friended me on Facebook

So one of my girlfriends has family that works for Merck. She told me that her cousin created Gardasil. Of course Gardasil is one of the vaccines on my big bad, should be pulled from the market, list.

Well she demanded that I stop posting news articles about Big Pharma and vaccine reactions on my Facebook or she was no longer going to be my friend!

She accused me of insulting her family!

She de-friended me since I told her that I would not stop posting the news stories I find.

All I can hope is that one day her eyes will be open.

with friends like that, who needs enemies?

She doesn't sound like a very good friend, IMHO. Maybe you're better off.

I wish I had a friend like you.

It isn't like you were making the stuff up! You were posting articles/news. It says a lot about her that she is afraid of any scrutiny of what her family does.
Good for you for not backing down!

I feel for ya! I just got under someone's skin (accidentally of course, why do people get so bothered by someone elses fb???) but fortunately it had a semigood ending where we truced and she is not going to do the HepB for her baby!

But I've lost lots of friends over the vaccine and birthing issues.

Oh yea, trust me, she didn't want me to have a homebirth either!

An unsupportive friend, no matter the disagreement, is not a good friend. Respect and understanding comes with friendship, I'd say good riddance.

How can someone be mad at another for posting articles on their own profile/homepage? That's pretty bizarre and arrogant.

I'd say don't let the door hit you in the a__ on the way out!!

If it wasn't so pathetic, It would be kind of amusing!

I have many friends that post things that I don't agree for. They have their options, I have my, and we still friends!!!

Its kinda amazing we've been friends for this long. We really have very little in common. I knew that when she joined facebook she was going to really get a see of what I believe in. And, sure enough, she couldn't take it.

At least now she knows some stuff on Gardasil before she injects her daughter with it.

I agree with the other mamas... and to that I would just add:

Laugh it off and good riddance! Keep the friends who lift you up and love you, not the ones who tear you down and are disrespectful!
