We have a two story town house at the moment. We spend most of our time downstairs, but the laundry is upstairs. What is the best way to store the dirty diapers so that they don't weigh a ton dragging them up the stairs?

I have a two story house w/basement. The diaper pail is on the top floor and the washer is in the basement. I just a large airtight trashcan with a cloth diaper pail liner. Maybe a bit of baking soda in the bottom. I take the pail liner down to the basement and dump the contents into the washer, then throw the liner in on top and start the wash. It's not heavy at all - no worse than the regular laundry anyhow.

My laundry is in the basement. I have two small diaper pails, one on the main floor and one upstairs, with nylon pail liners. That way I don't have to go up or downstairs to put a dirty diaper in the pail, so I can change diapers wherever I am. And the pails are small, so they don't get so full, so I can just take the liner3 out and carry them to the laundry room easily.

Our diaper pail is on the first floor, and washer is in the basement. I have a diaper bag in the laundry basket, and when it's time to do laundry, I just bring the whole bag with me... dump the dipes out... and turn the bag inside out and wash it too. I have an alternate bag that goes in the pail until the wash it done, so I'm never without a diaper bag.
The bag never feels too heavy, we wash every other day.
If we change a diaper upstairs, then we just bring it downstairs with us right then, or in the morning.
