We just got a puppy! She is a beautiful chocolate cocker spaniel. We are trying to think of some names. Any suggestions? We also have a Cocker spaniel named Oliver.

Congratulations!

I was going to suggest Toblerone, Toby for short, but I think that's kind of masculine.

Would you rather something more "pet like" or another first name like Oliver?

I like Toby! I already suggested it but DH says it's too masculine! I want something that's a name for a person and a pup, like Oliver :-)

I think Oliver and Lucy would be a really cute combo. Or maybe Oliver and Maggie? I don't know why Lucy and Maggie strike me as more "dog appropriate" than other names I love.

My favorites tend to be plants/herbs/flowers

Thyme
Basil
Marigold
Zinnia
Rose

Molly always seems like a good dog name...Morgan...I always end up going through a baby name book
