dog rolling in stink

must be either sh*t or something dead. i'm betting the latter. we have two acres and she's loose in the yard so i don't know where she's finding it, or if there are multiple places. this is the third time in a week. i bathed her once, DH washed her outside once, tonight was the third time and he only spot treated her. she still stinks.

can you think of any way to keep her out of it? i suppose it's a lost cause until i can find the source and get rid of it, right? there is a huge wet spot on our lawn that is super soggy from a very wet spring. i suppose it is out there, and it's just not possible to get to that area right now.

sigh...

I just had to say that I feel your pain. Both of my very white and very fluffy dogs love to roll in anything that smells. Most of the time it's poop. Yum. I would love to offer some advice on how to stop it, but that would mean that I had some how found a way to stop my dogs as well. Maybe someone on here will have some advice that will help us both. :Puke

I think dogs do that with things the like the smell of? My dogs do it- and little white dog even does it to the area of the bed I was laying in, when I wake up (I assure you, I don't stink! ). But the poop, the mud, and other stuff, I'd like to know how to get them to stop. I tell them, "Princess, get up." or "Tara, get up.", when they do it with something nasty, and the usually get up immediately, but that doesn't stop them from doing it in the first place! Subbing for ideas...
