Breasts after weaning

My breasts are so sore and full considering my DD hasnt nursed in over 24 hours. How long does the breast usually stay sore, any advice on easing this pain any?

If you could give more information that would be helpful - like was your weaning gradual? Are you actual trying to wean or is your dd having a nursing strike? Do you have a method for expression?

If your breasts are sore and full you probably need to express some milk so you don't get an infection. You can hand express or use a pump. A warm shower will probably help to get some milk out and ease your pain.
