Help with forming an LLC

Can anyone help me with forming an LLC? I am so confused. If you are in NY state, it would be even better.

Should I use a lawyer? We are starting a school and have no money for real start up costs.

It was so simple and easy here in VA.

First, go to your county (local) government website. At least here where I live, I got all the information I needed to start a business from my local government website (my county website). Forming an LLC was so easy. Just one application/fee. That's it! If I had any questions, there was a phone number where I did not have to dial many number to get to customer service. I would call and the person on the other line answered all my questions! My state of VA also has a website with all the information I needed apply for LLC. Look at your local and state government websites! All the information are there and if you ahve questions on how to fill out the application, just call them!
