My daughter has now self-weaned, she will be four at the end of the month and weaned this past November.
I just had to say what a great step-daddy she has. We have been together since she was 2 1/2 and she was still nursing strong. Her father had been pushing me to wean and thinks extended nursing is ridiculous. For 11 months she continued nursing when she was with me, despite spending 5 nights in a row with her dad every two weeks. My husband was so amazing and supportive. This time last year I was nursing my almost 3 year old, and trying to maintain a supply despite the long absences, I was getting depressed becuase my supply was dwindling. One evening, my sweet husband came home with a box of Mother's Milk tea and a bottle of Nettles! Here I was nursing a pre-schooler who was not even his biological child, and not only did he not pressure me to wean, he supported our efforts to continue our nursing relationship.
Just getting nostalgic as her 4th birthday approaches.

He really is amazing. I am so lucky. He is a Chiropractic Physician, the office is open MFW and 1/2 day Sat. On Tuesdays I am at work and the kids are with the opposite parents, so he cleans, does the laundry, makes dinners, etc so that I have less to do when I am home, on Thursdays he keeps the two little ones home from Day Care and spends the day taking them to the zoo, park, Art Museum, Bounce and PLay, Library, etc. We are very lucky!
