Ouch-no baby yet, clogged ducts?

I am waiting for baby #2 to arrive, I am 41 weeks+2 days and have noticed my breasts getting larger just in the past 2 weeks or so (they did get a couple sizes larger earlier in the pregnancy). Last night I noticed my breasts were really hot to the touch and today they have been sore to the touch. Now I feel achy in my body and a little feverish. Is this due to clogged ducts?

I tried massaging my breasts and I also tried pumping and nothing came out. I need to take care of this now, I don't want to go into labor feeling sick or having a fever, I don't want them to give me antibiotics!

What else can I do?

Do you feel any hard lumps or harder places in your breast - all the way down your chest, into your armpits, or around your back? That would indicate a plugged duct. Are you nursing? Has your nursling said anything?

There are some larger lumps in the breasts, mostly near the nipples. DS stopped nursing about a year ago. I don't really want to ask him to nurse, I do not want to tandem nurse them.

Do you have a care provider? I really think that with a fever, at this point, you should call.

OK, no fever, I just feel warm all over. I've got a cool compress on it right now.

Maybe you could pump? The nipple stimulation might even start labor.

It does sound like perhaps you have some milk building up. How about trying to hand express in a warm shower? Keep massaging, taking it easy, drink fluids, etc. I'm guessing your baby is coming very soon and will take care of this problem. Now I feel achy in my body and a little feverish. Sounds pretty classic early labor.

this happened to me a few times during pregnancy. you can do warm water or compresses to see if it lets some of the milk flow. if that doesn't work I would use cold compresses to help with soreness and swelling.

you can get breast infections and/or clogged ducts while pregnant for sure.

ITA! The night before I went into labor, I felt almost like maybe I was getting the flu. My body was really achy and I felt warm all over... I was 41 w 2 days as well.

Oh, I would be so happy to be in labor right now!

I put my supportive bra back on and my breasts feel better, they are still tender. I had switched to a nursing bra the past few days that had no support. I also massaged them in the shower.
