We welcomed Orion Theodore on May 7th at 2:18am, VERY fast natural birth. We barely made it to the hospital in time. It was a wild ride. He was 6lbs7oz (big baby b/c of GD my tush), 18inches and amazing.
Contractions started at 4pm on the 6th but were so mild that I just thought it was more prodromal labor, they continued on and off for hours with no real pattern. Sometimes I'd have to breathe through them but nothing unmanageable. Luckily DH had more intuition than me and had DS1 go to my parents overnight. Things completely petered out around 11pm and a very frustrated me went to bed thinking totally false alarm. I woke up around 130am to pee, my water broke and I was screaming the baby is coming out NOW (I could totally feel him between my legs), I made the trip to the hospital in about half the time it takes to normally get there (thanks to DH driving like a maniac), got there and pushed him out. I credit my chiropractor for having a VERY well positioned baby and the GD diet for helping me stay healthy, although it was very entertaining on how small he was compared to what everyone said my GD baby would weigh.
PS His blood sugars were tested three times and were wonderful! He is nursing like a champ and already making BF poo.
I'll catch up on the rest of you when I get a chance! Hoping everyone wonderful and amazing births.
