baby beehinds help please

I started using the baby beehinds cd on my 2 wk old and I am so aggrivated with them. Now I have never cloth diapered before so maybe I'm expecting something I shouldn't. First of all I had to change him all the time because he was soaked and I only have 18 diapers. Second the insert does not go very far up and so he just pees on the diaper itself and then the diaper cover is wet also. I'm thinking it's just not a good boy diaper, but maybe that is just how it goes. Tell me what you ladies think.

I'm still tcc, so can't help you with the nappies, but did you call your son Justice? I love that name, it's so sweet

I know that generally for newborns it's recommended to have around 36 dipes because they go through so many of them. You might consider getting some more, even a dozen prefolds may help to fill in the gaps.

For the peeing, I'm not sure I understand it right. Is his penis pointed down to prevent him from peeing too far up? Also, with fitteds it's ok for the diaper to be wet as the whole thing is made of absorbent material. If the cover is just wet with pee that's fine, just let it air dry while you use a different one, then you can use it again. I'm assuming that the diaper cover is only wet on the inside, right?

Baby Beehinds are supposed to come with 2 snap in inserts, at least the bamboo one I had did. A long one(to fold down to where it's needed) and then a shorter, fleece topped one.

And I agree with the PP, for newborns you should have at least 2 dozen diapers, 18 diapers could easily get soiled in a single day. As for being soaked, babies should be changed a minimum of every 2 hours.
