My LO is 12 mos. He's got a host of food issues and intolerances and I'm on a very limited diet, so food suggestions may not be helpful. But, due to this I'm even more desperate to solve our problems because nursing is his major source of nutrition.
My period came back around 6 mos PP but was irregular and random. The last two months it's been quite regular again. Tracking down what sets him off is always a challenge and it's generally food related, but this month, I think I put it together that there's also a link with my cycle and am wondering if there's anything I can do to help.
It seems that in the 4-5 days before my period starts, he starts getting really fussy at all times. He becomes like a newborn again - fussy at the breast, wanting to nurse every 30-60 minutes. Screaming, arching and hysterical mostly when not nursing. Super duper clingy. Wearing or holding him are the only ways to make him happy. He also sleeps less than an hour at a time (he's generally a poor sleeper, but this makes him even worse). It's like he has gas or a new food sensitivity, but a couple of days after I start bleeding, he settles back to his normal high maintenance instead of extreme maintenance self. I don't think it's a supply issue as I can still pump 5 oz at a time quite easily in just a few minutes, I'm guessing it's a taste thing? I don't know, but if I can find one thing to help my poor guy be a little happier and comfier, I'd really like to.
