This allergist saw my eczema-riddled baby (and I mean riddled - did you see my video of her pics?) and perscribed it and had a nurse come in and do teaching w/me. This was last summer, so I don't remember a lot, but he said she was too little for the epi jr - they gave me syringes, even for my big 2.5 yr old boy. When I finally decided to fill it a few weeks ago after the pea incident, the pharm guy kind of freaked and was like, this is really dangerous, if you get the wrong dose you could kill her, in this kind of, "Do you REALLY want this bottle?" kind of way. I got really angry and said, I didn't ask for this, I didn't ask for this bottle, didn't ask for a kid allergic to everything. You think I'm not scared, you need to scare me more? It is more scary to be without it right now. At any rate, he wouldn't give me the bottle until he looked up the epi pen jr and he confirmed it said 33 lbs (or was it 31?).
I could be wrong, but I believe you could kill your child if you use the epi pen jr on them and they weight quite a bit less than that.
