domperidone/mother's milk tea question

Thread Starter
Just wondering if anyone knew if there were any interactions between dom and Mother's milk tea with the following ingredients: Org. Alfalfa, Org. Blessed Thistle, Org. Nettles, Org. Red Clover, Org. Avena, Org. Dandelion, Org. Vitex, Org. Fennel, Org. Fenugreek, Org. Rose Hips & Petals, Org. Orange Peel.

I bought some tea today and realized I should ask this question before I drink any! I would call my LC but it's saturday, but I figured someone here might know if they were ok to take together.

Thanks!

no interactions that I know of

I was taking Dom and drinking MMT but I just couldn't stand the taste of it and for inducing lactation I need higher doses of the herbs that are in MMT. I now take Dom, fenugreek, blessed thistle and alfalfa pills and have done that since January and have not noticed any side effects (other than having to take a billion pills)
Good luck!

There is no interaction to worry about, but I think you would have a much better effect from taking a few of those herbs in capsule form rather than the lot of them as a tea. For me, fenugreek (4x4 caps daily), alfalfa (4x3 caps daily), and marshmallow (3x3 caps daily) have been very effective. Many people also benefit from blessed thistle (not the same as milk thistle). The tea might be a nice little boost on top of that, but I wouldn't expect too much of a result from just the tea; it's simply not potent enough.

Also, I am a touch concerned that this particular tea contains vitex. In some mamas, vitex can reduce supply. More on that here. I'd be wary of it if it were me.

HTH!
