Hi, we're moving to Cambridge, MA in two weeks from FL. I have a 10 week old dd. I need recommendations for a pediatrician and lactation consultant.

I highly recommend Dr. Joyce in Arlington (http://www.spypondpediatrics.com/); we think she's *fantastic* and my (now 1 year old) daughter has been very comfortable with her. I heard she might not be taking new patients, I recommend calling to check.

For a lactation consultant, I recommend Terri Anthony. She's good and will come to you. PM me if you'd like more info. (I don't check for PMs every day, but I'll try to get back to you soon if you do PM.)

I have heard great things about the LC at Cambridge Hospital (right near Inman), but can't recall her name. Maybe someone else around here knows???

We take our DS to Rosemarie Gordon at Harvard Vanguard (sort of between Harvard Sq. and Inman Sq.) and we love her. Her office has been great to us, Harvard Vanguard in Davis (just up the red line) has weekend hours if you need urgent care. Everyone we've seen in the office has been very supportive of breastfeeding, AP, and the way we generally want to raise our kids.

We went to Kate Riest at Cambridge Hospital and loved loved loved her!!!! You could probably walk to her from where you'll be living.

For a ped, we see Dr. Bershel at Davis Square Family Practice. We love her, her calm demeanor, her willingness to take calls at home, and her knowledge of homeopathics as an alternative approach to western medicine.

welcome! we live about 10 minutes from you and also have a 10 week old. actually i thing we were both in the march ddc with feb. babies! i lurked mostly. let me know if you're ever looking for a baby date!

we visited the breastfeeding drop-in at isis in arlington and the lc there is amazing. it's free, you can meet other moms from the area, and the lc is so well informed and takes time to address everyone regardless of long the drop-in goes.

i've also heard good things about cambridge hospital lactation consults.

there is a very good breastfeeding support group run by the LC at cambridge hospital (just up the street from inman) every t/th mornings. initially i was deterred from attending by the "support group" type venue but turned out the LC is WONDERFUL and actually can handle quite complex consultations during that time if it turns out that is what you need.

we are very happy with our pedi at the harvard vanguard practice in harvard square, also a short walk from inman. we have been there more times than i care to count this winter with breathing issues and the service from all the docs and nurses there has been great.

we switched there from the cambridge health alliance pediatric practice which i would definitely NOT recommend AT ALL.

Marcia Dworkind at the East Cambridge Health Center

We're quite happy with Dr. Marcia Dworkind at the East Cambridge Health Center. It's maybe a 15-minute walk from Inman Square.

She's been around for a while, lives in Cambridge, very flexible and reasonable as a pediatrician.

Also, if your little one was ten weeks in September, he may be ready to play -- there's a wonderful little playground on Maple Ave. off Cambridge. It's fabulous for very young children, and there's lots of little ones who come.

Just wanted to let you know about the Cambridge/Arlington La Leche League http://www.llleus.org/web/ArlingtonCambridgeMa.html -- I've found the leaders very available & willing to help (either in person or over the phone). I've also found better answers & support from the LLL then from either peds or hospital-based lacation consultants (not everyone's experience, I know).

Welcome to Cambridge! We're over in the Fresh Pond/Huron Village area

My oldest son sees Dr. Thomas Krueger at Harvard Vangard on Cambridge Street. He's seen him since he was 10 and we've always liked him very much; I can't give you any info on his vax stances or anything, however, because my oldest is fully-vaccinated so it was never an issue (nor, obviously, did we have to deal with breastfeeding then, heh).

My 2 little ones see Dr. Natalia Kandror at Harvard Vangard in Kenmore Square (Boston). I love her, and she's tolerant of my delaying vaxes, and was great about breastfeeding support.
