It's a version of paganism, usually Wicca, focused in the kitchen. Or at least, I've never heard of a Christian kitchen witch.

A Kitchen Witch's tools are in the kitchen: stirring spoon, cutting knives. And their "brews" are soups, stews, cakes, dinner, etc. made with blessings for the family and friends. Often with knowledge of herbalism, nutrition, phytonutrients, etc.

I guess it depends on who you ask I would consider myself a kitchen witch, to me it is using what i have at hand to do rituals or spells, and finding the divine and sacred ineveryday tasks and objects.

I call myself a "kitchen witch" (well, here at least. IRL people don't get that... ) and I don 't really jive with wicca so it doesn't have to be one or the other. ;-)

I am a christo-pagan-universalist sort that "communes" and finds great comfort and spirituality in the kitchen, the garden and with my babies.

Hows that? ;-)

i consider myself to be a kitchen witch. what i mean by it is that i work magic and spells in my everyday life, including while cooking, crafting, and gardening. my magic is integrated in my life, not merely ceremonial for rituals only.

This is pretty much where I'm at. I focus on learning about the effects of foods and herbs -- ginger as an anti-inflammatory, for example -- and how to grow what I can in our climate. I like putting my intentions into a tea or meal from seed to plant to harvest to kitchen. Between instinct and knowledge, I combine different foods, spices, herbs to meet the needs of my family. It infuses my daily life with intention and awareness of my faith, rather than going to a big ritual once a week or month and putting it on the back burner the rest of the time.
