sore bottom-what do I do? 1st timer

Dd had constipation all day yesterday and had a really tough time with pushing her BM out. Today her poor bottom ia all red and irritated. She squeezes her legs tightly together every time I change her. The bath seemed to cause her added discomfort, which I had not anticipated. I have been putting baby avalon organic diaper ointment on her and we use Burts Bees baby bath. Is there something I can be doing to make it go away fast? to soothe or ease the pain/discomfort? Thanks is advance

I really swear by Earth Mama Angel Baby's bottom balm. I would also look at why she's constipated. How old is she? Has she started solids?

I think she got it from too many carrots. I was not aware that carrots caused constipation. She has been on an extra dose of probiotic, flax oil, and peaches and prunes since yesterday and she is finally getting some relief.

Oh, that's good that you've figured out what caused it and it's not an ongoing thing. If it's an acidic, reddish sort of rash, I've also heard that putting milk of magnesia on it can help.
