To cloth diaper or not to

We used disposibles on my son and he is 20 months and in the throws of potty traing so we obviously can't use cloth diapers on him now. I am however going to use washable training pants on him instead of pull-ups.

So my question is for the next baby. We are only planning on having one more {unless it is another boy than we will give the girl one more try!}. Are cloth diapers worth it if you only use them for one child? Could I sell them when the child potty trains? My mom used cloth diapers for all 4 of us girls and I had planned on doing the same but wasn't well after the baby was born so the diapering and care fell to my DH who wouldn't use the cloth diapers I had bought. So I have all the new born diapes....its a start right?

Yes it's worth it, and yes you can sell them if you want.

Washable training pants are cloth, no?

It's still worth it to CD one child. You can sell them as the baby outgrows them and make back half your money. Even if cloth cost twice as much as disposable it would still be worth it.

It's completely worth it. Cloth diapers are easy to resell. You could also buy a mix of used and new diapers which will be cheaper than all new ones.

Absolutely worth it!

Totally worth it. We are only planning on one child and we CD. It's still cheaper than disposables for sure.

Yes it is worth it.

why can't you approach cloth at 20 months? my son was 24 months when I had a major organ+ loss. Three surgeries and 9 months before I was released from the surgeon. I had no choice but to disposable diaper my son for 7.5 months. When I was allowed to lift some laundry again I started him back into cloth -- he did better than I expected and re-adapted very quickly after such a long time.
You may have more success than you think. Won't know unless you try.

Good luck.

I agree that it is totally worth it for one child. For so many reasons, not just financial, but you can definitely save money on diapers for one child.
