mei tai-face out?

Can a baby face out (on front) while in a mei tai?

Also is buying a mei tai too much if I also have an Ergo and a Moby wrap? I would like something cooler and less bulky.

Some people do it, I don't. If your child seems to want to see everything, maybe you could do it for short periods of time? Also, I think MTs are really the coolest carrier out there - at least out of the things I have. So if you can, I would definitely get one.

I did it when she was smaller (four to six months) because I was afraid she'd give herself whiplash with all the head turning she was doing. Often, I'd tuck her legs up in a froggie sit because if her legs were out, she'd quickly get red marks that way.

Now that she's bigger, I most often do a hip carry in it, as a front carry put too much strain on my shoulders (since she couldn't help support her own weight.)

And yes, you need a MT

i do not and would not. if a baby needs to face out I can do a hip or back carry.

there is no such thing as too much when it comes to babywearing!

Not sure about facing out, never done it. But I think you should get a mei tai. I have a moby, ergo and a mei tai and use each of them - but I use the mei tai the most.
