And he's a BOY, named Oscar Leopold.
Stats:
Born on April 27th @ 1:59 pm. 6 pounds on the dot, and 19.2 inches long.
Short-ish birth story:
Started having contractions around 11pm on the 26th, arrived at the hospital at 4:30am and was dilated an entire fingertip's worth. Things went like this until about 9 am, when they decided to break my water, seeing as I was only dilated to 2 and already feeling pretty exhausted after almost 10 hours of labor and no sleep. Things started happening fast and within 2 hours I was fully dilated. I then pushed for 2 (2!) hours in the water. After 14 hours of labor, Oscar was born in to the water and placed on my chest. No pain meds. Aaron was the best support I could have possibly hoped for during the process. I'm pretty sure I couldn't have done it without him. Breast feeding appears to be going ok too.
These pictures were taken today. All the older pictures are stuck on my camera and we can't find the cord to connect it to the computer. Hopefully we'll figure that out soon.
Anyway, here is Oscar Leopold, 12 days old:

Also, here is Oscar's Chinese name, with explanation:
付家翔
This is pronounced Fu Jiaxiang (foo JAH shahng)
Fu is the surname
Jia means "home / family"
Xiang means "to soar"
Aaron choose the name because of the contrasting, but complimentary meanings and how he would like his child to remember both throughout life. He hopes his son will fly very freely, follow his heart and be successful, but at the same time, always remember what his family and home gave to him and that we will always be there to support him. I think it's lovely and I'm really proud of Aaron for coming up with it.
Thanks for looking!
