Getting Worried!!

39 wks 1 day now but I now if I make it to 41 wks OB is going to want to induce! I am getting very worried labor will not start on its own and my chances of VBA2Cs is going down the tubes. I try not to worry but as each day passes it gets harder. I know DS2's labor started at just over 40 wks and I am hoping to push that appt off until 40.5 wks bc I am sure he will want to talk induction. I most likely would not of had to worry about this if I did not have to switch careprovider so I get frustrated at that too.

I never have had real signs labor before so this time it is a 1st with some crampiness, really feeling any types of waves, and few times thinking LO is pushing on my cervix. Every thing at home is prepped and just waiting for baby. Not sure what else I can do besides pull out my hair!!

Thanks for letting me vent, LM

mama. I'm sorry you're worried! Have you tried any methods of more natural induction?

I hope babe decides to come out soon for you.

I can understand! I'm on the same clock being a vbac but I'm 38 wks today, so still have time. You have time yet too! It could happen super fast Would your provider induce with an amniotomy? My OB said she would try just breaking my water before doing a csection and I think I'd go into labor then cause I'm already almost 2cm and 75% effaced.

I know it's easier said than done, but try to relax and not stress too bad. the baby may be more likely to come if you're as peaceful as you can be. You've still got two weeks, and anything can happen any day now. *hugs* sending you labor vibes

Two weeks is a lot of time left for a lot to happen! But I do understand the whole "clock ticking thing." Look at all the stories on MDC of mothers who don't really have any signs and then BAM! There they go into labor! With my VBAC, I started off with strong contrax 5-10 mins apart from the get go--no real warm up for me.

Vent away though--its not an easy thing to be up against the clock. You are doing what you can to have the birth that you desire and that's all you can do.

I'm right there with you (except on the VBAC part). I'm 40w3d and I will be induced at 41 weeks. I've been trying not to stress, and I've felt for awhile that this baby will come on its own before this weekend, but with each day that passes I get more and more anxious. I was induced with DS and I really don't want to do that again. I just want to know what my body will do when allowed to go into labor on its own! I've been having pretty strong/crampy contractions for awhile now, and just this last weekend they were even coming very regularly. I thought for sure it was early labor! But yesterday and today haven't been as strong or as frequent, so I don't know what's going on. I have an appointment today and will have my midwife check my cervix and probably strip my membranes (both things I wanted to avoid, but at this point I will do just about anything else to avoid being induced with Pit again...). I hope it gets things moving for me!

I just wanted to commiserate with you! I know how hard it is to just wait and wonder, and try not to stress... Good luck to you. I hope your babe comes soon, *on its own*!

Thanks all! The pool felt really nice this morning when I went to workout.

AROM has done nothing for me in the past. This OB even said with my DS1 that they (OB practice on the east coast where we use to live) should have waited to see what the pit did before AROM (they did that before even starting the pit). I allowed AROM with DS2 only to try to get things moving (stuck in bed on my back bc of their need for constant monitoring) with signs things were slowing and I think I finally had just got the epi (that was 36 hrs in). So I am not sure that AROM would be the route I want to go since it does not seem to help with my labors. In our consultation, OB implied he would pit me at 41 wks which is actually Sunday of Memorial Day wked so I certainly will not be going in then since I will have family here (friends too ~ all from out of state) which means I will push it back at least till 41.5 wks whether he likes it or not.

I know it is still pretty far off (13 days to 41 wks) but knowing I will have to discuss it stresses me out.

Momma, I really hope you get the birth of your dreams, but remember the most important thing at the end if this all is healthy Momma and healthy baby. With that said i think you have plenty of time. You still have a week before your due date and then that is just an estimation right? Think relaxing happy thoughts. Can you get a prenatal massage and tell them to "help labor get started" I am a practitioner and there are certain places we do not touch to avoid inducing labor maybe you can use that to your advantage? Goodluck!
Happy birthing!

Want to tell me those places? I will rub them myself!!! Sadly, I live in a small town area so it would be a drive to anyone who would specialize in that and with already 90 mins to drive to my OB I cannot add more time onto my visits then since my boys take a lot out of their Grandparents by the time I get there and DH watches them for the first half that I am gone.
