Can you use car microfiber towels for inserts???

I am somewhat new to cloth, but was in at Walmart the other day and they had a large stack of microfiber car towels for $5 and I didn't know if it would be crazy to make them into inserts for One-Size pockets?????

They were very nice and would be soooo much cheaper then buying thru diaper stores.

Let me know if that is dumb to use to make insert....

Lots of people use them! Buy a pack and try them out to see if you like the absorbancy level before you buy tons, because some brands are more absorbant than others.

Yep they work great. Dollar Tree has them too.

You can but be careful putting them next to the babys skin. MF are SO absorbant that they can actually wick natural moisture away from their skin. I have used them, but I sew them underneath another layer first like hemp, bamboo, etc. (i should give the disclaimer that my kids are PL'd and this was 2 years ago, so I don't remember what I sewed them too - i just know i read in several places not to put them directly on skin)

Yes, but if they are colored, they will bleed onto your other diapers. Cotton Babies sells white ones that won't do this.

Thanks...Then I am not weird....
The ones at Walmart were actually really nice and were white and light blue. I think I will have to try to make some of these into inserts!!!
Thanks again for your responses....I am looking for ways to save on my cloth diapering adventure, especially since my hot water heater broke: and we have to get it replaced asap!!
