Well. I was counting on being GBS- and not having to address the issue with my midwife, buttttt, today, got the results, I'm positive.
So with a big bubble of nerves in my throat, I told her I will get the antibiotic Rx (they do the IV a/b at home for homebirths here), but only want it used if risk factors in labour present. My primary midwife is a bit of an anxious person and I was worried she'd try to talk me into treating...but she was great about it! She just wanted to make sure I was making a well-informed decision, then let it go.
So tomorrow I see an obstetrician to get a prescription, but it will only be used if I have a fever, PROM (18 hrs+), stinky amniotic fluid, fetal tachycardia.
I feel all radical and stuff.
I also reminded her that she can apply the eye ointment from across the room, or give it to me to "apply". (Strangely, the eye ointment is legally mandatory here in Ontario). She was also pretty much okay with that.

The nurse was not real happy, but oh well!
