Just wanted to post that I finally took the advice someone posted on here. I nursed dd in the massager chair at Brookstone in the mall today. It was wonderful. If only I could go there everyday...

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.
Where did you nurse today?

It's freezing out so we nursed at home today.
But, I have been known to nurse:
On the manican stand at the entrance to Old Navy (welcome shoppers!);
In any restaurant at the table during a meal;
Park and playground benches;
Lying by the pool and lying on the beach in the summer was nice;
Leaning over a carseat in the back of a NYC taxi cab;
In my ped's waiting room (surrounded by bottle feeders);
On a plane, on a train;
LLL meetings;
Family gatherings;
Anywhere and everywhere - but I want to add the massage chair to my list!
Wait, I did do the massage chair - I nursed in a massage chair while having a pedicure - now that is luxury!!!

Today I nursed ds in the Hip Baby carrier as we were walking on a path along the water. It's not like a sling, but positions the baby on your hip with his head just at breast level. We were walking with my friend and her also 14-mo-old and when I realized I hadn't nursed ds in quite a while and he was wanting his milkies, I just put him to the breast as we walked, it was chilly but my outer sweatshirt jacket covered me up pretty well! Anyway I hadn't done this since he has become an older baby --and it was kind of fun.

Let's see, this week.... at a LaLeche League Meeting.....at the Hair Cuttery.....in Target.....in front of my in-laws...
It's more discreet to just nurse her, rather than having her shouting "Nee-Nee!!" at the top of her lungs!! LOL

Standing on line at the fabric store, then in the back seat of the car when she decided she wanted more before getting in her carseat.
Last night, at the table at dinner. Right in front of the door, in January, in Minnesota. Brrrrrrr!

Walking through Menards
Waiting at the dr's office
At a restaurant
At a lawyers office (while meeting with the lawyer)
While negotiating to buy a car at a dealership
While working at the computer
In church
That's all I can think of at the moment.

Walmart
On 1/17/04 I was at store #2729 in Fort Collins, Co. While in the checkout line I was breastfeeding my daughter when a store employee came up to me and asked me to coverup. Well, I didn't have a cover so she suggested I put my husbands heavy leather coat over her or go to the restroom. She said I was practically displaying public nudity...You could barely see my breast and I was feeding my daughter not running around naked! I will never shop at Walmart again. I've never had problems at Target or Kmart!

I’m not up to date on the laws on breastfeeding in public, but as I recall it is perfectly legal to breastfeed ANYWHERE. So, Wal Mart was out of line.
But so much is out of line. I went to change the little ones diaper at Friendlys and there was no baby chaining station in the bathroom, I walk out and the girl behind the front counter says ‘Oh, its in the men’s bathroom’ I said ‘I’m supposed to go in the men’s bathroom?’ she’s like ‘Yep’
Hmmm, a little too friendly If you ask me.
Then another time, when the little one was VERY YOUNG I went to the bathroom for a diaper change (forget the restaurant name) it was a small bathroom (2 to 3stalls) with no windows. I walk into the bathroom and it’s FILLED with smoke! A girl is in the stall smoking! I almost went off on her then realized it was actually the restaurant who placed ashtrays in each stall! Ah!!
