I just don't understand... INTACT CARE GIRLS & BOYS

why people get all alarmed when they see their son's penis a bit irritated at the tip? Not bashing or anything please, I am just really concern people will think their intact son has a problem.

I have 2 daughters, both girls have had irritation in their vulva due to irritation from their dipes, and including now that they do not wear dipes, and they barely wipe their parts, sometimes they complain about how sore it feels and I can see it a little raw at times, I have to do the baking soda baths and coconut oil as a shield to prevent future irritations. I never see people posting about their daughters irritation but yet they worry a lot about their sons. Am I the only one who notice that?

I'm not trying to be condescending (sp?) but I am just really concern. We need to understand the same care we do to our girls it should apply to boys too.

I see where you're coming from. I think the big difference here is that the majority of posters are female and know how to care for female genitalia. I've never had to take care of a penis (intact or not) and have no idea what normal is. If I have a son I plan not to circ and may very well come here to post questions or concerns simply because I don't have any background with penises to work from.

yeah I see what you are saying, though I don't have an intact husband and my family are all in Panama so I only rely on print outs or web info. I think what I was trying to say is that girls too have the same problems of irritation due to urine AND we already know how to take care of that, why should it be different for boys? I don't know, I'm just rambling...

I think people are conditioned to think intact penis = problems even if they don't realise it. The second they see a little bit of red they panic!

Yes, I have noticed it too. It's obviously because they're not used to intact penises, and I wonder if they are maybe a bit worried that the pro-circumcision propaganda has some truth in it?

Where I live no one circumcises, and I have never heard anybody worry about their sons' penises. In fact girls are a lot more difficult to take care of.

I have to say this, I have two circ sons and an intact son so whenever I see red on either esp if it doesnt go away, it bothers me. So it has nothing to do with thinking as a parent that intact equals problems if that were the case and I had that mentality I probably wouldnt have left my son intact. just wanted to add that. I havent seen any more issues with my intact son that I have with my circ'd sons like redness and some yeasties. I'm a pretty yeastie person myself and my kids (boys and girls) tend to be as well. anyway just wanted to say that

Sadly, this will always go through my mind. : I think maybe that's what happens when you're surrounded by mainstream.
