Sealing water washable paint on terra-cotta?

So I am not crafty. At all. Yet today preschool sent my child home with a terra-cotta (sp?) pot he had painted. With water washable paint! They told me to make sure to seal it. Well, yeah because otherwise it is just going to run right off but um...what do I use??? I have no idea where to start. Went to one store for advice and they had no clue.

Anyone have any ideas? He's very proud of it and we need to plant the plant in it (they sent home a plant to pot in it) but I've got to seal it first.

Thanks in advance!

Any craft store (like Michael's, or even Walmart) will have spray on sealer. I just bought a can of matte spray sealer from Michael's for $4. It will be with the rest of the paints, someone there will know for sure...it is a pretty common item (IME, at least).
