breastfeeding adopted baby

We will be adopting a baby from Guatemala sometime in the spring. I am currently breastfeeding my toddler. He only nurses 3xs a day for just a bit. How successful do you think I will be to get our bottlefed 4 month old ( or she may be older 5-7months) to bf? Has anyone tried to bf an older adopted baby? If I do get her to latch on, my milk supply will adjust right? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

I am planning on breastfeeding our new little one. Here is a site that has come in very helpful. Adoption Breastfeeding

All the best on your new addition.

I haven't done it, but I plan to when we adopt a baby. I've seen on other message boards that many women have been successful w/ BFing an older infant/young toddler.

Congratulations and good luck!!

I don't have any experience with an older baby - dd was only 2 days old when we got her, but I do recommend the site Amazlilith linked to. That's where I went before dd arrived. Lot's of great advise! Since you're still nursing, probably just a little fenugreek will be all you'll need! Best wishes!
