Strangers predicting the sex?

Thread Starter
I have gotten 4 comments in the last two days from complete strangers that I am having a boy. The one that takes the cake is this old guy who came up to me in a store and asked what I was going to name my son. I was confused since I had my ds with me and he's 2 1/2 and has had a name for awhile now:P Then he said the one in my belly is a boy and he 'sees things before they happen.' Wow, eh? I think the rest of the comments stem from how I'm carrying which is like a great big ball that sticks out from my body. But I carried both my ds and dd this way.

Anyways, anyone else getting predictions from strangers? For those of you who found out do you have people telling you, and are they right or wrong?

Me too!!! For months now! Mysterious old women come up to me on the street with knowing looks in their eyes and say, "that's a boy, that is." When I ask why they think that, it's always for the same reason you give: it basically looks like I'm not pregnant, except for the soccer ball tucked under my sweater. But my mother carried me that way, too, so I'm not counting on any of it. Now I just smile sweetly when people ask me the sex of the baby, and I say, "My baby can be any sex she or he wants to be. Any gender, too." Then I quickly make my escape while they stand there looking confused.

I dont think i've had strangers this time but people who i wouldnt classify as friend or family for sure. there is one lady who goes to our church who i'd rather have as a stranger(long story, i know it seems mean but you have to know her) she has taken to calling me every day or 2 for most of this pregnancy and has been predicting boy, she goes on and on how she "knows " these things with animals and people... well so far he has been 100% wrong with the animals she was predicting(her goats and horse) and with the pastors baby.

i've been getting tons of the sympathetic looks from the "knowing old ladies" lately... what does that mean??? I know i look like i'm going to explode at any given second! ONe Dr keeps saying he when refering to the baby.

I've always had lots of predictions with other babies though. weirded me out at first with the first one but it can be kinda fun hearing Why they "know"

I'm definitely having a boy [no doubt about it after all the USs I've had]. One day a cashier asked if I knew what I was having and I told her, and she kinda looked at me skeptically and said, "You're carrying awfully high....." as if I could be wrong. :

A friend of mine had had amniocentesis and KNEW without a doubt that her baby was genetically female, and people would still argue with her! : the babe was a girl, of course.

I've been told countless times I'm having a boy because it basically looks like I have a basketball under my shirt and I haven't gained too much anywhere else at all. Also, I carry pretty high. When I was pregnant with my son, people insisted I was having a girl, even though I carried the same way! I'm not sure how the way you carry a baby affects the genitalia of the fetus within... I've had about seven ultrasounds with five different techs all tell me I'm having a girl, so... I'd be REALLY surprised if they were ALL wrong. I think I just carry high, except that now I've dropped. Also, my mom carried me the same way I'm carrying now, right out in front, not a lot of weight gained.

The waitress at the Thai place my husband and I always go said that it was a boy (which is right). Nobody else has made a comment about the sex to me, usually they just ask.

Yep I have had old women tell me Im carrying a girl both times. The first time I didn't get an US but I felt it was a girl and this time I DID get an U/S and it says its a girl. The latest time was at a government office and the old woman behind the counter said "when is your baby due?" I told her and she said "Having a girl are you?" I was like "YES how did you know?" And then I hear about how I just LOOK like Im carrying a girl.

Of course the ultrasound could be wrong but we will find out soon!

I've had people predict both boy and girl. Some say "oh, you're carrying so high, it must be a girl" (according to ultrasound, she definitely is!). Others say, "wow, you're carrying so low, you're definitely having a boy". Haven't had any comments recently and my belly has seriously dropped in the past couple weeks... but people's perceptions are so funny!

Everyone keeps telling me I am having a girl- store clerks, strangers on the street, etc.

I have no idea what I am having.

DH and I know we're having a boy, but haven't told anyone that we know the gender.

First of all, everyone congrats me on waiting for the surprise on the day, and telling me how finding out on an US is so morally wrong - WHICH I HATE because I obviously don't agree!

Then they all try to tell me what I'm having. I hate that too, because I know what I'm having, and I don't care what they think it is! /rant

Wow I can't believe how rude some people are.

We didn't find out the sex this time, but no one has made any comments like that.

I've had a few tell me I'm having a boy, which is correct.

I don't mind that so much, but I DID mind the lady at Motherhood asking me if I'm having twins...I'm not THAT big am I? LOL
