I was just researching WIC in Virginia and came across this:

I don't know how it plays out in reality, but it certainly is nice to see a government organization espousing the benefits of and supporting breastfeeding.

I'm in VA and on WIC and they are pretty good about breastfeeding. They have a great LC, who even came to see me at the hospital and got me a manual breast pump. They didn't offer me formula, and just assumed that's what i'd still be doing at the 6 month visit. However I didn't like the , "need to be feeding him x solid meals a day" idea. He didn't need solids and still doesn't. I've also bf him in the waiting room without any problem. so they are pretty good
