Boys and Girls...are there REAL differences? - Page 5

If you research about brain science you will see at birth that a male and female brain are different. Up until about 6-8 wks after conception they are one but then the hormones kick in....even in babies aborted/miscarried/et you can split there brains and see differences in structures.

There is much cross over but there are differences. I think nature can cuase use to nurture differently. Even at birth-- minutes old you can notice differences like in eye gaze and reflexes. This can cause us to nuture differently. Why hold a gaze longer in a child that isn't biologically design to do this.

It amazes me how people we say homosexuality is inborn but don't want to accept that there are different brain and gender types.

Accepting brain/gender/sex difference doesn't mean We (Society) doesn't nurture some behaviors and divides. But we shouldn't also ignore accept biological (hormonal and brain) differences.

Also there is a labeling issue. Like with aggression for long time (even still) was labeled a boy trait in reality because how the brain develops, plus socialation aggression is different in genders girls can be more verbally agressive and boys physical. Addressing those difference and accepting thier isn't just one type of aggression only helps all children.

I didn't say that I can't accept that there may be differences, I just said it is not possible to truly know, since we're the chicken and the egg and the research is hardly as straight-forward as you present it here.

Hey, as big as I am on the sociological and anthropological research, I love neurology too ! It's all interesting to me, so if you have anything from the neurological sciences that you think definitively solves the nature vs. nurture debate, I'd love to read up.

P.S. Writing on the same day that my ds insisted he wanted a headband, coordinated with his outfit, to wear to the park today...meanwhile, dd ran around the park wildly swinging a stick, and ds wanted to sit cuddled on my lap.
