ED question

So, i'm confused on one point still. If i reintroduce foods every 4 days and say that my DD has a reaction to that food. How long do i wait to reintroduce another food? (ie. do i wait longer than 4 days so that she doesn't have blood anymore? will a new food that i'm adding bother her more if she already has blood?)

Do i make sense? I'm trying to word it as best as i can.

I was told to reintroduce a new food every two weeks to make sure there was no reaction at all. If there is still symptoms I would at least wait until they are gone before reintroducing so you get a "true" result.

hum it will take us forever to get new foods at that rate

Yah, that is what i was afraid off. It takes at least 1-2 weeks to get back to 'normal'.

I thought it was 5 days, if NO reaction. If there is a reaction, I'd wait until you got back to baseline to add another. Some things clear out faster than others.

Thank you. I couldn't get a straight answer from the doctor and there wasn't any discussion about if more blood came with a new introduction.

Do you happen to know the 'life' of foods in breastmilk? Like for example, dairy can stay for up to 2 weeks. Do other foods take less time to clear out? Say, if i ate salmon today and she reacted, how long would 'salmon' be in my breastmillk for?

It may be different for everyone. For me, when DS was BFing, he would react 24 hours after I ingested dairy, then the following 72 hours. So for me, it was out of the breastmilk in 4 days. That's not true for everyone though. Not sure if it depends on how big the protein is or how leaky the mother's gut is, though that would be another interesting study...
