~ pagan summer camp '09: the schedule thread

huzzah, and welcome to pagan summer camp '09: workshops!

stones and crystals poll with everyone
yoga & meditation with saphire
cycles: our own & the moon's with aweynsayl
beyond the 101s with clay
altar camp with cari

to accommodate a busier than usual summer, we're going a slightly different route than the past two years... rather than four or five (or seven!) weeks of camp in a row, we're spreading them out over the summer in themed, flexible-length workshops.

~non-pagans open to playing at pagan camp are also welcome to dip toes and learn something new, as long as they are respectful of the fact that this is "pagan" camp.~

LINKS TO PREVIOUS CAMPS...
*last summer's "the pagan home" camp schedule and links to all SEVEN weeks of camp can be found HERE.
*and links to each of the five weeks of the first pagan summer camp based on the elements, is listed in this post from the resources thread.

I'll be watching this thread.

June's going to be here so fast! I'm looking forward to the workshops layout- I think the flexibility will be great.

Any feedback from past camps? There's been a lot of emphasis on projects, activities for kids, lots of yummy recipes, sites to bookmark...

Do y'all like the projects & things to make?
For newbies- is there anything missing from your POV?
Do we want to include more activities for kids, or is there generally enough?

The workshops I plan to do specifically are yoga & meditation, and pendulums. Is there anything in particular you'd like me to cover?

Subbing.

: I'm so excited! I am starting to chart (tomorrow!) and am interested in how everything and everyone will be connected...

Meanwhile, I never tried to learn how to work a pendulum, so that will interesting, too....

:

I loved last year's. And all of them. But the crafts are great. I bought some belly dance videos per recommendations last year and am now totally obsessed, so I have learned so much.

I was a newbie to the pagan mamas threads last Fall but life got a bit wack-a-doody around here and I just kind of halted a bit of my personal stuff, but I'm in. I can't wait, this sounds so fun and exactly what I need right now. I've kind of stopped some of my own spiritual-path-stuffs and need to get going again, and these topics sound like exactly what I'm needing right now.

Can't wait!

pre-prep for cycles camp for those interested:

Our Own Cycles: either in a notebook, the back of your journal, or just a bit of paper taped up wherever you'll see it each day, draw up a rough sort of calendar and start noting your energy as you go thru your cycle. note your flow start and stop, cm start and stop, o, etc, like you would for charting/ttc, but the main thing you're interested in is your energy level, mood, and general character of your energy....

The Cycles of the Moon-- many of you are already familiar with the Moon's phases, where and when best to see them... but those who are not, take the next couple months time to get a better sense of them...

Any plans on doing something for the advanced (long time) pagan?

DOK- I have some ideas, do you have anything in particular in mind?

i guess it depends on your interests and your desire for growth (or, i guess, re-growth, lol)... i personally love re-visiting topics at different points in my life, i always find i get something out of it (new or not, lol)... but i'm very much the re-re-re-reading of fave books type, too, so i think that's a personal thing.

is there a particular area you'd really love to explore but havent? maybe even if we cant find someone who knows enough to host it, we could do a sort of co-op and explore it together... i think that would be really nifty.

Aweynsayl - I know you said in the other thread that you are sad that there isn't more interest...I can probably come up with a million things that I'd love to discuss - I just don't want to bombard things or try to start too many topics.

I'm very interested in the topics that have been picked. I'd also like to have more discussion about what others may have done to include children in rituals (one of my main reasons for not getting into gardnerian craft wholeheartedly) - I want DD to learn about spirituality in her own way (even if she is 20 months lol). I also love to discuss stones and gems along with their healing properties. Add to that, I'm re-reading a chakra book right now, so that's another topic I'd love to explore some more. I would be able to think of more but I'm thinking I might have a sinus infection (yikes) so I better find out ways to make it go away...off to visit the Kitchen Witch thread

lol, yeah, it seems to be a bit... mellower... than last year, but last year's energy around camp was rather insane. i think it's natural for it to be a bit more subdued this year. i just hope it's not toooo dull.

cari and saphire esp. as i recall from last year were *excellent* at providing ideas for the kiddos (no pressure, gals, lol).

stones. that was one thing on the list we floated on the monthly thread that no one picked up to host...maybe i'll put a little something together to pop up some time... maybe even just of the we-all-share-about it variety? rather than specifically hosted...

Sorry it took me so long to get to this. I didn't have anything specific in mind. It's just that I've been pagan for 30 yrs... and it would be nice to delve deeper on some stuff.

Would someone who is not sure they are "pagan" but are currently floating, religionless but sure of their connection to Spirit, down the river of life, be welcome at this camp? I was raised and until recently considered myself Christian but have left that for a "wider road". I would be interested in learning from everyone here but don't want to be "butting in".

I obviously can't speak for everyone (ok... maybe I can hehehe) but I think as long as it's understood that this *is* a pagan camp/thread series etc.. and you're comfortable with that and can be a leave all predjudices at the door, that you're perfectly welcome to camp along with us

You're definitely not butting in, and we always love sharing our previous camp threads with people that are curious (aweyn.. you are the link queen lol) Be warned that LAST years camp was 7odd weeks long and hopping from start to finish! lol We do a little something different every year but it's always great!

And I'll take the cake please

Aweyn.. gee no pressure eh? LOL
