If so, I'm wondering what you thought of it....

Discipline Without Distress: 135 tools for raising caring, responsible children without time-out, spanking, punishment or bribery (Perfect Paperback)

I just bought it this past weekend at my state LLL conference; I have not read it yet because I am finishing reading "Raising a Daughter." I am hoping to read Discipline without Distress and post about it on my blog (www.theparentingpassageway.com). I know API did a book study on it not too long ago, perhaps you could check their website and see if they have notes up about it?

Well, the authors of PET and the No-Cry solution books gave it good reviews, so I'm guessing it's pretty gentle and attachment parenting friendly...interested to hear the reviews on it!

I found a pretty big excerpt on Google Books...

I hate the font, though. :P

I did, and I liked it. It gives a lot of really concrete suggestions on what to do instead of time outs, and I really appreciated that.

I have also met the author and have heard her speak. She is very AP, family bed, GD, etc. I went to a talk she gave at a Mom & Baby fair and she was all about doing whatever works... baby sleeps in the car, great, bring a pillow.... baby sleeps on the dryer, great, do lots of laundry.... baby only sleeps with you, great, learn to bedshare safely. She was very MDC-friendly.

She also speaks from a mama, been there, done that, perspective. I appreciate that a lot more than academics with no kids.

I read it from our library but when I get some extra money I am going to buy a copy. She is a local author (to me) and I want to support her.
