God I am so bored.

I am "due" tomorrow. I have never not been in labour by now. Of course, I think my due date is more like the 20th since it took me a week later than normal to get a positive pregnancy test.

I want to go and buy baby stuff, but I don't need anything.

lol...I feel the same way. I'm 41w2days. I know, I've whined about it enough here. Every night for the last week I've opened the fridge, looking for something to make for dinner...and all I can do is just whine that I hadn't planned on having to make dinner this week because I planned on birthing a baby! I don't want to thaw the food I made for post partum...I haven't been grocery shopping. Poop sandwich baby. Time to come out!!

More monitoring tomorrow, I'm debating whether or not to have them strip my membranes. Hoping the few BH's I've been having today will turn into something interesting.

Here my long update while DD naps...

Not due yet.
22 is the date if we go by LMP, 24 if we go by my chart... But I still feel so DONE!

Trying a new way to bring on labour: Plan something else!
So DD has some playdates lined up this week. Will try to make it to the zoo on Friday if it is sunny as forecasted.

British car show at the botanical garden Saturday. Rain or shine: I am going. We go every year, unless we are out of town. I am hoping that the walking will help. I have been saying for a while that the 17th would be a great day to have the baby. Will see.

Going to the midwife tomorrow. I will be almost 39 according to their calculations. She will offer a membrane sweep. I think I will decline. Next week maybe... I know and understand they don't want me to hang around too long if I plan a homebirth but not quite ready for the sweep yet...

Might ask her about cumin tea? Sounds it is not as nasty effect as castor oil which I know they are okay with at 40 weeks...

Talking about homebirth, this week-end wasn't easy. We realized that MIL still had not realized we were birthing at home... Oups... So we clarified that with her. I did not have the opportunity to tell her to keep that for herself before her sister showed up. This aunt is a control freak and can be the most annoying person ever, and has bashed most of our parenting choices with stupid comments. (Cloth diapers, doulas, part-time co-sleeping, moving DD to her own bed at 15 months, EC, toddler nursing, etc...). So my MIL said something totally innocent about homebirthing during dinner and mother's day dinner ended with a big justification to the aunt about why we felt better about it. : Not quite how I wanted it to happen. I am also scared of how many "told you so" I would get if the homebirth doesn't work. The good news though, is that DH totally came to my defense and justified my birthing choice. As he calls it, his duty for a "united front".

I had a "get all my to-do's done" day while dd went to my moms in hopes that it would clear my slate and allow me to go into labor. Here's hoping it works.

Anybody heard of "monkey labor"? I called my acupuncturist yesterday because I had had some prelabor stuff the night before and she said something about monkey labor coming on and needing another night and full day to come to fruition. I've never heard of it... I think I'll look it up.

I know I shouldn't be complaining since I am technically not due till Friday, but I haven't ever gone past 39 weeks either (except I didn't know dates with my first and since she was my biggest my guess is she went longer than 39) and I am feeling sooo done. I've got this feeling like its just not going to happen.

With my other pregnancies, labor started after my water broke. So I keep thinking, what if my body doesn't know how to go into labor without my water breaking, and what if it just doesn't break this time?

I know I sound ridiculous!

He is, don't want to take credit away from him, but I also have to say that he will jump to any reason he has to tell his aunt how much she is in the wrong... He cannot stand her either... You know the kind of person who complained a few years ago, because she always had to make Christmas dinners and that it should be the kids turn. We said "sure, it will be at our place next year". Well she immediately said that it could not be because our house is too small... So her idea was that we had to go prepare it in her house. Yeah right... Well...we took DS to his little league game tonight. We got there early and I had contractions in the van the entire time, felt like baby was putting pressure on my cervix. HOLY HECK! Then we found out that the stupid coach rescheduled the game for Saturday and didn't tell anybody! GRRR!!!

Now we're home and NOTHING is happening. They were coming wicked regular in the van, too. *sigh*

I seriously don't mind going late. I don't mind not having him right now. I DON'T. However, if I'm going to be in pain, contractions, etc., etc., I want them to be for a reason!! (Yeah, yeah, I know, they're preparing my body for something. Well...not neccesarily. Didn't really with my others. BAH BAH BAH BLAH BAH! hehe Yes, I *am* throwing a temper tantrum right now! *stomp*)

Due date was yesterday, and more importantly the day I THOUGHT he'd come. Not cuz it was his due date, just the serendipity of the number 11 and my superstitious nature. So now I'm confused why I keep seeing 11's everywhere. Even tonight at dinner I looked down and noticed the only number visible on the placement I was using was the 11. Tomorrow is the 13th. That's a good birthdate. I've been feelign some slightly different pressure, had one contraction that didn't just feel like a BH, so we'll see....

You know what the best way to get your baby to turn from ROT to OA is? Run after a toddler down the street DS was outside playing with my neighbor's daughter today and he has a habit of running off so I had to take off after him. Baby also feels a little more engaged as well. I told my neighbor today that I'm having a homebirth and she thought it was pretty cool, she offered to watch DS while I'm in labor as well should I need her to.

I realized last night that my birth pool has a leak. It takes several hours for it to noticeably deflate but I think once I get in there and its full of water it won't be able to hold air well at all. I'm hoping my midwife has a replacement for me. I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow. I went into labor with DS at 40 weeks but up until that day I didn't have contractions or much in the way of prelabor. This whole end of pregnancy has absolutely thrown me for a loop. Just as long as I make it to thursday and get my grocery shopping done all will be well. I also want to get a bluetooth ear piece that day so I can talk to DH during labor more easily.

I may have to try the jogging thing. LO has been LOT mostly for ages. Better than ROP, but still.

The running definitely seemed to help because I have a butt stuck in my sternum right now. Baby is still very much engaged, hopefully I don't end up giving birth to a toddler.

I'm still trying to sort my way through all of this international calling business. DH wants to get a cell phone that receives free incoming calls and I'm trying to figure out the most economical means of making calls to him in Afghanistan. Verizon has an international plan but its $1.99 per minute : There has to be some cheaper alternative out there.

It's a shame the military hasn't figured this out. They have the whole AFO system for mail; why not something similar for cell phone service?

They have the MWR calling areas for soldiers to use but they are a PITA. The calls only last 15 or 20 minutes and then hopefully he's lucky enough to not have a line behind him so he can call again. With the cell phone at least I would be able to call him if necessary. I've heard that I can get a calling card that is somewhere between 25-35 cents per minute but I'm not sure if I need a land line for it, we only use cell phones currently. The problem we're going to face in about a month or so is him going to a highly under-developed area that will be without phone and internet for an indefinite period of time, and at that point I don't even know if he could get phone service with a GSM phone. He would most likely need a satellite phone. We can do internet phone via Skype but I am pretty computer illiterate and need to figure this whole webcam thing out and he needs to get a webcam as well. It seems to be so dependent on where he's located and what he has access to. I know some people are able to do magic jack while deployed but they have regular internet access in their rooms.

I haven't read anything yet except that people are bored and want to go into labour already. Of course, I don't really need to read anything to know that.
I've been feeling... frisky the last couple of days which is decidedly out of character for me. I might even put the moves on DH tonight. Good sign, imo, since this is how I usually feel not long before labour starts.
