All of the things that I've found said that it's just easier to go the 7 day route. Pregnancy yeast infections can be harder to get rid of since your body is kinda working against itself in that regard. I figure I've probably had it for a while, just had no symptoms except some intermittent itching, so I'll go the full 7 days unless I have the baby before then. I don't know what happens if I happen to have the baby in the middle of treatment. I'll ask my MW at my next appt.

Had my 41 week appointment today. I have never been this pregnant. I thought you all might enjoy these pictures. This is my littlest one "helping" the midwife.

So cute!! He looks pretty excited.

The midwife I saw today (my secondary) was very into getting DS to "help" but was taken by surprise when he pressed the correct button on the doppler before she got a chance to tell him...he's been doing it at almost every appt the whole time.

I'm really excited - I met a photographer today who I decided to invite to the birth...she is doing it for a steal and she seems awesome. I only hope I don't end up birthing Saturday during the day or Sunday/Monday day & overnight, because she's unavailable at those times!

Awww, cute pictures.

Madalyn looked awfully birthy the other day, I wonder what she's up to?

Another appointment today to make sure I can still pee in a cup. Should be exciting!! Someone asked me yesterday if my midwives check my blood pressure and everything, with the tone. Um, yeah. When I mentioned to the same person very early in pregnancy that I was switching from OBs with my last pregnancy to midwives she asked me if I was insane. I think people just have absolutely no clue what midwives do - I try to explain but I think there's a predisposition to believe that women need to be rescued from this horrible sickness that is pregnancy. I reassured her that if anything was the least bit amiss they send you to the doctor and since nothing is wrong and I'm low risk there's absolutely no reason to do so.

More contractions yesterday and I ignored them. I figure when I need to pay attention I will, and until then I'd better carry on!! Maybe DS1 and I will take a stroll today - the weather is lovely.

Very sweet pictures ColoradoMama!

I'm due (for the second time) tomorrow! I have a midwife appointment this afternoon, which will probably be uneventful. I had a series of pretty intense contractions last night, for about an hour and a half. I must have fallen asleep again around 5:30, because they're gone now. I felt very tired when DH left for school this morning, but since then I've woken up and had an incredible burst of energy! This never happens to me before 9!

I'm with you, mamayarn, I figure when I need to really pay attention to ctxs, I'll know!

I better go take advantage of this energy while I have it. It's supposed to be gorgeous here today!

good luck with your appointment jpi!! Maybe there will be something exciting (in a good way) to report from it...

I had my MW apt yesterday and I guess it was a change because she said the baby was fully engaged and nice and low. So yay for that, she was also really funny and outlined exactly where the baby was laying in my belly, this is her butt and her shoulder and her foot that has been kicking you in the ribs is right here hehe... DD is laying on her side right now which is why I have been feeling pain in my left hip area her shoulder keeps bumping into it. At least she is securely heads down!!

I just had to vent this because it is still upsetting me. I am a crazy animal person, think little girl bringing home all sorts of injured animals to nurse back to health etc... I have cat and 5 ferrets so I am particular sensitive to any critter that slightly resembles a ferret..
This morning driving to work my DH was driving behind me too, I come up on this squirrel that obviously had just been hit by a car and while there was no obvious blood or anything on the road the poor thing was flopping around and hopping like mad still very much alive. I immediately pull over and cars are swerving around me. I call DH who is just coming up behind me and start balling on the phone because no one is helping this squirrel. He pulls up behind me and runs to the car asking me what is wrong and I tell him there's a squirrel thrashing around on the ground and can he help it because I am crying too hard to do anything... He looks over and says honey there is just a dead squirrel, its already dead!
So I cry even harder and he is really confused because he thinks I just hit it even though I didn't...

So we end up sitting on the side of the road for about 20 minutes making us both late for work as he calms me down and asks if I want to stay home today ( I didn't because it's my last day of work!). Eventually I pull it together and drive to work...It was so sad. I know most people think of squirrels as glorified rats but I raised 2 squirrels when I was in high school from when they were little blind babies!

Not a great way to start the morning but DH was wonderful about his extremely emotional wife and I am at work and I will be getting out early so I am glad I came in at least.

Sorry for the story I just wanted to get it out so I could stop thinking about it so much!

Awww, Ldavis, I totally understand. It's so hard too with wild animals because there really isn't anything you can do for them other then put them out of their misery, which feel awful. Poor wee squirelly - I hope he went fast and didn't feel anything.

Ldavis! I can absolutely relate. The other day we were outside grilling, and we live in this not-so-fabulous neighborhood (which we can't wait to move out of). Anyway, a baby squirrel runs up to our porch being chased by these neighborhood kids who are carrying nets, couch cushions, and a shovel! DH tells them to get off our lawn or he'll call the cops, as they are trying to "capture" this poor little guy with a shovel! And they're old enough to know what they're doing. We go inside for a minute, and the kids are out there again! DH goes out and explains that they aren't allowed to mess with the squirrel on our property, and says that they'll likely get bit by it, etc. So they finally leave. That morning we'd seen a dead big squirrel in front of the neighbors house, it had been hit by a car. So we fed the baby one some peanuts and have heard him outside a few times, though we haven't seen him since.

Sorry that was a terribly long story, with no real point! Just that I understand!

thank you JPI, I knew I wouldn't be the only one who feels that way about critters around here. I would have been screaming my head off at those kids for sure. Youth today (shaking head).

DH and I are of the same mind about animals. We are fortunate to have a wildlife rehab center near where we live that will take literally any injured wild animal you bring to them at any hour and I can't even count how many critters we have brought. Last summer I had 3 baby robins in a nest that construction workers gave me because they to take it down and 3 baby mice with their eyes closed. I was out digging up worms for a week, grinding them up and feeding the birds every 3 hours with an eye dropper. The baby mice I bought emergency kitten formula for and was feeding them every 2 hours round the clock for a week. Finally I wasn't sleeping at all so I brought them to the wildlife center...So yeah I am a little nutty about animals I guess.
DH says sometimes he thinks I like animals more than people, I don't bother telling him that a lot of times its true!

I'm right there with you, LDavis--I was the kid who brought home any injured animal she could find, and for the last couple of years I've been back in school preparing to become a veterinarian. (Actually getting into vet school is very hard, and it's a four-year program, so I'm taking some time out of my career to have this baby. ) I worked in an animal shelter for a year, and that was quite an experience. It wasn't easy by a long shot, but it was really rewarding. I miss working there... maybe I'll try to get re-hired when the baby is a bit bigger. Anyway, and I'm glad your DH was there to help you; it is really sad about the squirrel. I'm so sensitive now that when I'm not yelling at our naughty cat for being on the counter when he shouldn't, I'm feeling really guilty for not spending more time with our four kitties and giving them everything they want (like trips outside on the leash, etc.).

When I was little everyone in my family thought I would be a vet. I thought so too until I realized I would literally be adopting every abandoned animal I came across. I can handle putting to sleep an animal whose time it is. There is a whole other story about how I can handle that in my own house that I will never tell to all the pregnant mommas here. I just can't handle the abandoned critters. I nearly start crying when I walk by the pet store in our mall, knowing exactly where those puppies and critters came from...
Trauerweidchen that is great about vet school. I know it is extremely competitive, more so than med school a lot of times! Good for you!
My path is leaning toward wildlife rehabilitation so I can get licensed and actually take in animals from other people! I love my DH, he's such a good man!

Ha and I wish I could get my cat on a leash outside, I would love to bring him but he is totally not cool with that!

I'm so sorry. I would have been bawling my head off on the side of the road if I'd seen that squirrel, too. A few days ago, I yelled at some teenagers who were chasing Canadian Geese. I looked at my dh and said, "When did I become the old lady who yells across the parking lot at kids for chasing animals?" He said, "Oh honey, you've always been that person!" So yep - right there with you ladies.
