Ick, yuck, ugh!!!!!

I just about died in the humidity last year, and I was not even babywearing, as I was only pregnant at the time! I am used to heat, but not THIS kind of humidity, now that I am in Japan. It was soooo bad I have to say, "Ick, yuck, ugh again!!!!!!!!

But now that DS is here, almost half a year old and weighing about 20 pounds now, I am thinking I really need one. My budget will only allow me to buy one, and I am purchasing internationally so I don't have the opportunity to try it out and see if I like it before buying, and returning it would be a hassle, not to mention loss of a pricey S/H charge.

If you live in a humid, humid place, do you find that you can even babywear at all? I keep procrastinating because I think I won't be able to stand wearing it in Japan's icky, icky, icky summer weather (sorry, I get carried away but assure you I am not exaggerating!) But on the other hand, DS is getting to be so heavy to carry in my arms. What to do?!

I went to a fabric store and bought 5 yards of unbleached white muslin and cut it into three long strips. It cost ~$15. Voila. Three extremely lightweight carriers. I don't sew so the edges are kind of jagged but my daughter assures me that she doesn't care. I do primarily back carries these days as they keep me from overheating. This is my favorite carry.

I live in texas which is pretty hot and humid and we babywear just fine.

MT's are cooler and have a short learning curve. Maybe you should try one of those?
