How do I strip diaper cream off my FBs?

I've been mistakenly washing ds1's FBs with ds2's Kissaluvs. We have been using Desitin on ds2's bum because it was so irritated, but now the FBs aren't letting the pee through the fleece very well and they're leaking.

Could you let me know specifically how to strip them so they'll work again?

TIA!

Get some blue Dawn dish detergent. Wet the diapers in the sink, and then squirt some Dawn on the part that has the diaper cream on it. Then rub vigorously with your fingers or a little scrub brush, then rinse REALLY WELL to make sure all the detergent is out. Let them dry, and then pour some water on them to test that the moisture is penetrating quickly. If it's not, do it again.

There are probably a dozen different ways to do this. That's what worked to get Destitin off my Fuzzi Bunz.

I sprayed them with simple green then washed on hot until I couldn't smell the simple green any more. That worked very well, better than anything else I tried.

Dawn wasn't an option--gives me hives and migraines. I used our nice, natural, fragrance-free dish soap, which stripped a tiny bit of rash cream fine, but not a ton of rash cream (DH didn't know).

Thanks to you both. I think we have Simple Green, so I'll try that first.
