I'm meeting Joanna!

How awesome is that?!?!?!? I'm purchasing a dog from Bronte's litter and I'm going to fly to the breeder's home when Joanna happens to be visiting, and we're going to meet! She's like MDC's own (former) Dog Whisperer. And I'm thrilled beyond belief to be getting one of her grand-dogs.

I know, I'm so excited! I feel like a groupie, I'm such a dork. I just want to sit near her and hope that some of her dog knowledge gets to me through osmosis.

It's also my 30th birthday on the day I'm meeting her and getting the pup. If you've been keeping up with Kate's blog, I'm probably getting "Ella."

Hey, congrats on the new puppy and meeting Joanna! I hoped she'd check in sometime here! I always wondered how Woddy was doing, and how he did in the aftermath of the fire!

That has to be the best b-day present ever. Give her lots of smoochy kisses and belly rubs and tell her she's a good gooooood girl!!! :

Add me to the jealous list, as well as the "Say Hi from me - I miss you!" list!!

Have you had a Cardi before? Ours is without a doubt the most delightful dog on the planet. Yesterday he "scared" a cat out of the yard (and he is terrified of cats, after a bad experience with my brother's evil psycho-kitty). He was SO proud of himself! DH and DS and I were in the foyer, praising the heck outof him; my other DS was in the shower. I told Topper to "Go tell James!" Topper ran downstairs, tore into James's room, raced into his brother's room, circled the family room at top speed, then finally realized that James was in the bathroom. He stood outside the door, wagging his tail furiously, until James opened the door and told him how brave he was! I have never seen him do anything like that before.

I'm incredibly excited -- to meet Joanna and Kate, and also to get Ella. Who shall be renamed Maizey I just got the final word yesterday that I'm definitely getting Ella. I'm planning to put lots of pics up on my blog. It will be a combo midwifery/puppy blog now!

I've never had a puppy -- only older rescue dogs -- so I'm a little nervous about that aspect, but I'm encouraged by the fact that cardis seem easily trainable and Joanna and Kate have given me a lot of good book suggestions.
