Re-purpose large prefolds for small baby?

I have about a dozen large prefolds (15x18) that I would like to re-purpose for our new baby. I already have a ton of larges. I have a partial newborn stash and grow big-ish babies, so I'm wondering if I could cut these or something to make them work under small covers.

Suggestions?

Do you have a serger? You can trim the sides with it to make them more trim to fit a smaller baby.
