How soon is too soon to DTD???

I'm 3 weeks PP and DH and I DTD last night. I had no tearing during birth and my bleeding was, for the most part, over until DD2 hit a growth spurt this week and has done NOTHING but nurse...which has caused me to bleed some again. I was fine durring but a bit sore now. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one who didn't wait until 6 weeks.

We only waited one week. It's been 4 months and I am fine.

We DTD at 3 weeks PP, my dr cleared me once the bleeding was done. Which was right about 2 weeks or so. She seemed fine with that.

We waited about 5 weeks, but I had a 2nd degree tear and was still sore and bleeding.

I've never heard of increased nursing causing resumed bleeding, but I have read many accounts of increased physical activity leading to bleeding.

There are many women who don't wait six weeks, so I would say you are definitely not alone!

My midwife told us that we could DTD when we felt comfortable unless there was severe tearing that needed to heal. She said it's different for everyone and your level of comfort is what matters. If you aren't having any pain or discomfort, I'd say go for it.

2-4 weeks after each baby.

This is my 4th pregnancy and I've yet to wait 6 weeks. My first it was about 4 weeks, and I had some pretty major tearing, maybe a few days shy of 4 weeks, my 2nd it was barely over 2 weeks I believe, and my 3rd it was at about 3ish weeks. I was physically ready sooner with my 3rd, but was still bleeding a bit more than I was comfortable with.
