I've been getting frustrated lately because My son pees so frequently and I change him every time he pees. The diaper is not full by any means. I thought you were supposed to change every time the child pees, or can you wait until it is soaked? Could I make a fleece liner to keep him dry and then let the diaper fill up more? Is it okay to have the polyester fleece right next to his skin? I am so confused right now. I really want to keep using cloth and would love to totally CD my baby coming soon. Help!

It's really totally up to you. If you prefer not to change as often and that works for baby (no rash, doesn't wake) then awesome, you can definitely put a fleece liner in to provide that stay dry effect. Just do what works for you and babe.
I pretty much change with every wet, except for at night, but that is because we go coverless a lot, so I pretty much have to.

I'll sometimes leave them a little bit sometimes so long as there is no rash or anything and I'm pretty sure it's just a small amount. We do use some pockets with the fleece and the Stay Dry Hemp Doubler and it really does help them stay dry while the diaper is wet (except in the morning it's usually pretty well soaked).

Thank you all for your replies. Both of babies do hate feeling wet, and I don't like the idea of leaving them sitting in their own pee. My son usually wakes up from a nap not long after wetting a diaper. I'll have to try using fleece liners. It almost seems a waste to change the diapers so often when they are barely wet. I might actually get brave enough to go overnight. I think that is going to be trial and error. They both sleep through the night and I don't know how much padding they will need.
Thank you for your help.

If I changed every pee, I'd be changing every 15 min. LOL She seems to pee little bits every 15-20 minutes or so. Now I do change hourly, or when there's poop, but when I know I can't get to her as often as normal, then I will put a fuzzi bunz on her. Still, we end up changing 10-12 times a day, and she is 8 mos old. I feel fine with this, and don't feel like it is harming her in any way.

Well I definitely don't change with every pee. Probably every 2-3hrs or if there's a poo. If she's napping I leave her. I don't change overnight unless there's poo. I use pockets mostly and AIO's though and they all have the stay dry layer either fleece or minkee. If I put a prefold or fitted on dd I use a fleece liner.

Ha ha hahahaha I am the meanest mom ever, then. I use stay-dry diapers and we change every 2 hours (unless there was a poop, which is changed instantly.) When we used cotton diapers and changed every pee, dd had a horrible rash from all the wiping and changing. You can use microfleece (like a jacket material) against the skin. You cannot use microfiber (like terry cloth that grabs your skin) against the skin.
