I have been doing a cold rinse and then washing them in warm cold water and tumble drying. Is this correct?

If the hemp diapers are new you are supposed wash them a few times in VERY hot water to make them absorbent otherwise they may repel. Also over time you may get more of a stink build-up (esp. if these are being used for overnight) if you don't wash w/HOT water.

If the Hemp diapers are new and come from a WAHM, they should have had some prepping of the fabric prior to construction. If they come from a larger manufacturer they will need several washes with hot water and hot dry before the oils are removed enough to provide you with a good absorbency.

After prepping you are good to go with your routine.

Is the hemp new? It may need to be prepped...in several hot washes.
After that, i always washed my hemp with everything else...
cold rinse, hot wash, followed by 2 cold rinses.
