Where do you buy guar gum?

In the adventures of being newly gluten-free I've realized a large chunk of the recipes call for xanthum gum which we can't have since dd is corn allergic. I can't seem to find guar gum anywhere though Do I have to order it online? Ds's birthday party is on Saturday and I was really hoping I could make dd and I some cupcakes so we didn't feel left out.

The guar gum I have in my cupboard right now is Bob's Red Mill. But I got a small jar of it at the Health Food Store before that. Can you call around to some of them and check? I know I haven't seen it at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's.

You could also do something that's a treat, but not cake, if you can't find it. Enjoy Life chocolate chips melted so you can dip strawberries into it? Coconut milk ice cream and make your own sundaes? I don't use either gum in things like my carrot cake muffins which are very dessert like.

For some ridiculous reason there are not many HFS around at all except for Whole Foods and TJs. And the Whole Foods here are really terrible compared to the one I had where we lived in the southwest. I thought moving to D.C that I'd have tons and tons of more options since it has such a huge population but instead there's tons of stuff I can't find. It's really frustrating.

We're going to a different WF tonight so hopefully they'll have it. We'll see.
