WHere can I find of database of hospital c-section rates?

I'm looking specifically for Kansas hospitals and doctors. How do I find out? Do I call the hospital? Is it online somewhere? I don't have an OB/GYN yet because DH and I are still a few years off of starting a family, but I'll be sure to ask when I'm interviewing for one. I was just hoping to get a ballpark idea of rates of the hospitals and doctors in my area for now. Thanks!

If you contact your local ICAN, they can usually get you this info.

The Birth Survey is aiming to provide this info. We are collecting it from state depts of health. (I got the Maryland data - but it hasn't been formatted & put up online yet.)

I don't know if we have KS yet, but you can check. If not, you could attend a CIMS webinar & learn how to help us get the data.

But yes, ICAN is a good source too. & DON"T LISTEN to any HCP who dismisses the Q by saying, "Oh, we'll we're a high-risk facility." - That's what the nurse told me about Johns Hopkins (I later discovered that while it's a fabulous facility for people who are very sick - it is NOT a good place for a healthy mama! I transferred out at 24 weeks.)

You could try your state dept. of health website - that's where I got mine.
