Prefolds with 17-month-olds

Hey! This past month I've JUST started doing cloth diapers with my almost 17-month-old twins *hides in shame*

I've got a BUNCH on Fuzzi Bunz One Size Pockets, which work, but I'm branching out with prefolds as well cause I think the Blueberry Coveralls are super cute with the patterns

here's the thing: during my girls' nap today I used a toddler premium prefold with a Joey Bunz hemp insert, Snappi, and Blueberry cover for each of them and they leaked! Should I just add another insert to the mix? Or even another prefold?

WHat are your experiences with using prefolds/covers with toddlers and how to get them to work?

don't get me wrong I loove my Fuzzi Bunz it's just I like the idea (since I have twins) of extending my laundry time by using prefolds in the house and maybe Fuzzi Bunz when out and about, plus I'm thinking the prefolds are just healthier for the booty

Wow, I've never had that type of a prefold combination leak. Are you sure there isn't a problem with the cover?

Assuming the prefolds were prepped before using - and you know how to wash cloth diapers - they shouldn't leak!!!! Maybe the cover....

Extra insert for extended times should help.

It might be the covers. For bed and nap time Nikky's were my all time bullet proof fav or my pee a river sons. Up and about the Blueberries should do fine for shorter times.

The only time I ever had leaking problems with a prefold was if the cover was worn out or loose around the legs or if the prefold was loose around the legs. my dd was a very tumble around sleeper and she'd manage to pee out the leg holeif I didn't have everything snug.
