Yeah that can happen, but that should just be a post or two. We don't remove entire threads since it would cause post count issues, possibly extensive depending on the thread.

I think she meant we move them to the Naughty Thread Forum, but we don't delete them altogether. When we use something called "soft delete" to remove a post from a thread, then that post is no longer part of your post count.

Hrm... I swear I have lost a bunch of posts when threads go bye bye. Maybe it something that has changed in the last few years that I didn't notice?
The only way you would lose posts is if they were deleted in the thread (which they often are if they were User Agreement violations or if we temporarily delete a post, pending edits). Deleting entire threads makes the server grumpy, and we don't do it. Moving a thread to the Bad Place doesn't delete posts any more than moving a thread from one forum to another deletes the posts; it's simply moved someplace where no one can see it.
